In 2020, Field Theory launched our limited edition publication: No Acting, No Admin, celebrating 10 years working together.

The publication centres on the six of us reflecting on ten years of making, supporting and curating art in the public realm, in the typical Field Theory style. We look back and around, we wonder how we got here, and how we’ve shaped what we’ve become. Our discussions begin with our first encounters in 2008, and end with our project ICON in late 2018. Nestled inside these passages are broader discussions about performance and socially engaged practice in Australia, the challenges of working in a collective and methods of making site-specific art projects. Anecdotes, unusual facts and gossip consistently intersect these vast conversations.

No Acting, No Admin references projects made by Zoe Scoglio, Jess Olivieri, Malcolm Whittaker and many more Australian artists working in experimental ways.  Supporting theses acts of remembrance are some long-lost documents and unreleased images, as well as essays and interviews by collaborators, academics and curators including Phip Murray, Robert Walton and Mish Grigor.

Beautifully designed by Rebecca Mcauley, a whopping 230 pages and limited edition print of 100 copies, this is a unique and timely artist book.
